Why I Find It Hard to be Friends With White People | Alternet. Interesting point of view. It sounds like based on the interests that they both had they moved away from each other. I read something once like a proverb I think that said “What is given too easily is not treasured.” Isn’t it the degree we get, the respect from our peers, our ability to have a relationship that give us a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction? Relationships are work so if someone doesn’t want to hold onto a friendship that’s their business. I don’t think you can generalize it the qualities the other person has. People are individuals.
