Amazon.com: The Mystery of Lewis Carroll: Discovering the Whimsical, Thoughtful, and Sometimes Lonely Man Who Created.  I loved reading Alice in Wonderland as a child.  When I saw this in the suggested reading for Adults in the library today I got it.  It really gives you a context in his behavior and why he was like he was.  A complex person.  The book was a bit apologetic but I think overall fair.
