Dashboard and no widgets showing

Hi out there.
I solved my problem as follows:
I booted from the MacOS 10.6.2 install disk delivered with my MPB and started the installer. I unchecked ALL items except those one which check box was greyed (basic software).
After rebooting from hard disk, I applied the MacOS 10.6.3 update and reinstalled Safari 5.
A new reboot, and everything was fine…
Due to my “research” in the internet I come to the conclusion that my problem was arised by a damaged “WebKit framework” and its associated components.
