Didn’t find a solution to fix this, just the fact that the users buy another printer.  When I installed my last Lexmark printer for a customer it was almost 8 years ago and it had issues as well.  If I remember correctly you had to hack the driver to get it to work correctly for an OS that had been out for years.  It was an OS 9 driver/machine.
