iTunes Not Recognizing iPod Touch

Three solutions on this thread.

1.  Try different USB cable.

2.  try to connect in recovery mode: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808.

3.  If your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch or iPod nano (5th generation) is not recognized in iTunes on a Mac, you might need to remove and reinstall the Apple Mobile Device Service. Check out this article, http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1747
