Wow, bought some Mac games and the poster can’t get them to work.  Read here. He has the system requirements and he is not alone with this problem.  Apparently after further research this is happening with other applications as well like Adobe, Retrospect, and other non game applications.

Current theories and suggestions.

Try another disk/download to install.  Installer must be broken and not copying all of the information that it needs to.

Try moving the file from the applications folder to the desktop and launching it.  It might be a permissions problem in the application folder.  It used to be that sometimes applications wouldn’t be installed correctly and wouldn’t run from inside the applications folder.

Try moving the application inside the /username/applications folder.  Perhaps it needs more permissions or the programmer who make the installer wasn’t careful.
